The new Krones dry aseptic line for MCS Coca-Cola has successfully passed low-acid aseptic validation.

Last year, the installation and ramp-up of the new aseptic line at MCS Coca-Cola marked a major milestone: For both partners, it was the first turnkey aseptic production line in Mongolia.

Its centerpiece is a Contipure AseptBloc (comprising an aseptic blow-molder, a filler and a capper), rounded out by a labeler and the complete dry end. The line is designed to produce low-acid beverages such as iced tea and fruit juices. Before filling, these products are treated in a VarioAsept UHT system manufactured in Taicang.

Aseptic validation passed on the first try

After installation and commissioning had been completed on time, validation was the next major milestone in the project. It was carried out in strict compliance with standards, featuring a well-planned, standardized and well-organized process. To meet the requirements of multiple bottle formats, the Krones technical team planned the validation procedures to align precisely with the customer’s project schedule.

At the same time, a specialized technical service team was assigned to provide on-site support. Thanks to more than a decade of cooperation with MCS Coca-Cola, the team was able to collaborate efficiently to complete the aseptic validation successfully – and it passed the test on the first try, ensuring that MCS’s production schedule remained on track. Since the commissioning and validation, the line’s efficiency has steadily increased and acceptance testing has confirmed that two additional bottle formats meet the required efficiency specifications.

How was it possible to manage an aseptic project successfully in such a short time? The answer lies in the people behind the project. The project team leveraged the extensive aseptic project experience and strong on-site management capabilities of the specialists at Krones Taicang. They held regular meetings to coordinate the project, overcome language barriers and close any information gaps. To address local logistics challenges, the team developed a spare parts supply plan in advance to ensure uninterrupted production.
