Thanks to a detailed waste separation system, Krones Thailand collects recyclable materials and makes them available for a good cause.
Around 300 people work at Krones Thailand – it’s clear that a significant amount of waste is generated every day. However, not everything is destined for the bin: Some waste, such as packaging or other recyclable materials, has the potential to be reused.
To utilize this potential, the site collaborates with the Wat Suan Kaew Foundation. This non-profit organization is based in a suburb of Bangkok and is dedicated to various social purposes, such as the education of disadvantaged children and the care of elderly people. These projects are financed in part by the sale of sorted waste to recycling companies.
Since mid-September, the Krones site in Bangkok has also been contributing. To kick off the project, employees were first instructed on how to recycle different materials. Then, special containers were set up for collection and separation, the contents of which are now handed over to the organisation every month.
The campaign has been very well received. With the active participation of all colleagues, more than 80 kilograms of recyclable material were collected in the first month alone! Equally positive is that the campaign fits perfectly into the Krones vision and associated values: Disposing waste in separate containers is a measure that requires little effort in everyday life – yet reusing recyclable packaging makes an important contribution to more sustainability and environmental protection.
