Materials
Whether PET, polyolefins or polystyrene: Plastic waste is a valuable material – if you know how to recycle it. The various plastics have different physical properties such as strength, mouldability, temperature and resistance to chemicals. These properties result in individual areas of application and, in turn, the way in which the respective materials are recycled.
The recycled PET from our plants easily achieves food-grade quality again as a popular packaging material for beverages and food.
From the kitchen to the canister: Polypropylene is characterised by its strength, chemical resistance and low density. The same demands are placed on recycled plastic.
Whether detergent containers or shampoo bottles: The thermal and mechanical stability of HDPE is not compromised even after recycling.
The so-called low-density polyethylene is mostly found as film in everyday use. As such, it requires a special recycling process.
Whether yoghurt pots or take-away boxes: Polystyrene comes in a wide variety of designs, all of which require different recycling processes.
Krones Recycling also finds the ideal solution for special plastics with particular challenges – whether it's a single module or an entire recycling plant.

From bales to food-grade flakes: Krones Recycling covers the entire plastics recycling process. The modules for sorting, shredding, washing and decontamination can also be perfectly retrofitted individually into an existing line. At every step, we ensure that the material is processed gently and in a way that saves energy and resources, as well as maximising the yield and quality of the recycled plastic – sustainability meets cost-effectiveness.
Single machines for plastics recycling
In addition to complete recycling lines and modules covering entire stages of the plastics recycling process – such as washing or decontamination – Krones Recycling also offers individual machines. Whether as part of a new installation or as an upgrade or retrofit for an existing line, these single machines can be seamlessly integrated into any overall concept.
