Concept for new, single-sourced breweries

The requirements for the concept of a new brewery are the same all over the world: optimised brewery operations need state-of-the-art technology with optimised material flows in a perfectly matched building featuring extensive IT networking and customised utilities. Plus of course flexibility, expandability and low operating costs.

The clients’ goals are:

The turnkey concept in beverage production is developed using a three-phase model:

• Pre-Feasibility (concept phase)
  It is here that the first solid basic data are identified. These form the foundation for a decision on a factory planning project.
• Feasibility (design phase)
  The basis data are compiled for a decision on a brewery planning project.
• Feasibility (design phase)
  In the design phase, the documents are created that are required for the construction work and technical implementation. Krones handles the technical design of the filling and packaging technology, the process engineering and the material flow technology. This results in a detailed quotation covering the entire factory.
• Execution
  The execution phase subsumes the execution planning work, the construction of the buildings, the installation of the technology and commissioning of the entire factory.

In the case of a new brewery project, the client derives several advantages from the three-phase model: he receives at an early juncture important information on the project concerned, e.g. on the holistic concept and the price. Moreover, clients encountering a brewery planning project for the first time are purposefully supported by the three-phase model. Overall, the subsequent brewery operator enjoys minimised risks in terms of costs, deadlines and quality.

International projects featuring entire new breweries have been completed during the past five years in places like Thailand, Denmark, Taiwan, Russia, Africa, Romania, the USA and Vietnam.
